VQ Archive - Content List

Parts and Score

We use the most reliable critical edition and mark our suggested bowings and fingerings. Our score has harmony analysis to further understand how the quartet was composed.

VQ Chats

Over the course of a few videos, we talk through each movement of the piece, and discuss our understanding and interpretation of the work along with listening to selected recordings.

Sectional Videos

Each member of the quartet will go through the part in detail.  This includes demonstrating how to practice some tricky parts, further technique and fingering suggestions

VQ rehearsal videos

Become a fly on the wall and watch the VQ in rehearsal.

Guest Lecture

We welcome a special guest on each course to hear about his/her perspectives on the piece. Past lecturers include renowned quartet musicians such as Krysia Osostowicz and Mark Steinberg, and academic specialist  Dr. Laura Tunbridge.

Final Play Along

Each course culminates with a final play along of the quartet to put all of the work into practice and get an overview of the piece.

One of the signature items of VQ Discovery course, this is specially produced by the VQ to aid your practice. This includes Minus-one audio tracks and solo instrument tracks.
