The Villiers Quartet is appearing at Keele Concerts Society with classic chamber masterworks of Mozart and Beethoven as well as world premier of Martyn Harry’s new work. Martyn Harry is a contemporary classical composer,a music lecturer at Oxford University and serves as the artistic director at Jacqueline du Pré Music Building. In this programme, we explore how the string quartet writing evolved and revolutionised in the crucial time of music history in late 18th century into early 19th century in Vienna.
